"Beautiful
house with
a very large
and spacious
garden - the ideal space for barbecues, parties, and gatherings.
My room on the ground floor is well lit and quiet. A lot of work has been put in to renovate the house. The kitchen is fully equipped and well integrated into the living space - we have a working fireplace too! My 4 months stay in Montcourt has been very enjoyable. If you are looking to live with a few other Insead students in a nice quiet country house close to campus, this is the place for you. Highly recommended". Roger FONG, MBA 09J |
"This
charming house is ideal for students wishing to get the French village
feel. It's great value for money and the landlords were always
responsive to our needs. The “all inclusive” rental is convenient and
saves the hassle of dealing with French administration! It’s renovated
to modern standards and has managed to keep its old stone charm. If taking a run by the river or hosting a
backyard BBQ is for you... this place is ideal. Close enough to INSEAD
to feel within reach, but far enough away to feel like you’ve left
school!" Faizal KARMALI, MBA 09J |
|
"Great
value for money. The house has all what you need. Big rooms, your own
bathroom, very convenient kitchen, and a beautiful garden. It is also ideally located (12 min drive from INSEAD) - 5 min walk from a bakery, a drugstore, a pizza takeaway etc and 3 min drive from a big department store. One of the cheapest petrol station of the area is also nearby. I really enjoyed my time in Moncourt!" Lamine BRAHIMI, MBA 08D |

"In
my opinion this house belongs to the top 25% of housing at INSEAD. It
is really nicely renovated, clean, has a great terrace for BBQ, is not
far from school and there is good infrastructure nearby (Hypermarket 3
min drive, gas station on the way to school). We especially enjoyed the
big room (kitchen, eating room and living room all in one) – it is
really great to hang out there together! This place is especially great
for people who already know each other and want to share a house
together (like we did coming all four from SGP)." Leonhard G., MBA 09J |
|
"The house is one of the best ones
around, in terms of quality and price you pay. The thing that I loved
was the all inclusive package: you clearly have so many admin things to
take care when you initially land in the INSEAD world, and having
everything ready (at least as far as housing is concerned) is
priceless! The best features of the house are the fireplace, the power
shower and the garden. The best feature of the service is the landlady
herself. Marie is amazing. Always responding fast and efficiently. I
enjoyed my time here a lot and I would definitely recommend this place." Dimitris KOSSYFAS, MBA 10J |
|
"The
house is amazing, the rooms are spacious and very modernly renovated. Yet, it still carries the unique touch of a
French cottage. Not having to deal with setting up internet on arrival is a blessing especially after you hear that it takes some of your friends 3 weeks or longer to get internet working in their place! It truly felt like home during my stay there and the drive to school was so simple that even without GPS you can do it! Most importantly, the landlady is one of the best hosts that I have ever met and she is always there to offer help." Tingmui LI, MBA 10J |

"I
stayed in Suite 4 at Villa Rive Du Loing for 10 months. Throughout
INSEAD, it has been MY HOME: calming, warm, welcoming, relaxing. An
indispensable part of my cherished memories from INSEAD, with many
dinners by the fireplace, BBQs at the lovely garden and long nights
chatting and lying on the couches. I am going to miss my home and my
housemates. I wish I could stay longer... " Themis GKION, MBA 10J |

"I
was very lucky to find this flat which was by accident. I stayed here
for three periods starting in the winter and the longer I stayed, the
more comfortable I felt. I stayed on the ground floor enjoying the lux
of having my own bathroom and toilet next to my room. One of the many
things I liked most from the beginning was the heating in the house as
it is something quite difficult to get good heating in France. The
entire house is very well heated with hot water available anytime.
Plus, with the renewal of the house, this flat looks very modern from
the inside with a well equipped kitchen. Another aspect that I loved
was the large garden that we had on the back of the house. This huge
garden with green grass and trees make a perfect place to both relax
and gather friends. It is quite easy to see whether you got lucky or
not once you see other places and I feel very fortunate on that." Kevin SONG, MBA 10J |

"A
nice quiet getaway for four students south of Fontainebleau, still
conveniently close to supermarkets. I specially liked the large
kitchen-living room area with a working fireplace and the terrace. The
house is clean and rooms have all been renovated recently!" Alex, MBA 10D |

“The
Rive du Loing is a beautiful four-people-house only 15 minutes south of
Fontainebleau. On the outside it features a charming and
typically-French stone-look as well as a big garden and a river behind
the house; perfect for a relaxing run in the evening. On the inside,
it’s equipped with all the facilities you need for studying, like
wireless internet, a spacious kitchen and even a chimney. Big shopping
malls are only 5 minutes drive away. Big recommendation!” Markus EHLE, MBA 11J |

"It
was very cozy and calm place with huge yard and quite environment. I
stayed just 2 months but it was really great to stay at your house and
I wish I could stay longer! " Sangwoo KIM, MBA 11D |

“Living
in La Rive du Loing is one of the best experience I had in Insead
France campus. It is a cozy beautiful house located in a quiet
neighborhood. As a girl, I got the chance
to live in suit 1 which is at first floor and with my own toilet and
super big shower room (this is important for a girl!).
I love the house so much as it provides me a place to
relax and enjoy the quiet time. But of course if you life some social
life, the big garden and living room is a perfect place to hold BBQ
party. Most importantly, a good landlady would definitely make your
stay in La Rive du Loing even more enjoyable. To sum up, I highly
recommend this house and if I get the chance to come back to French
campus (or even just a short visit), I would still choose to stay
here!” Amy SUNG, MBA 11D |
|
"I really liked my time
in the
house - it is super convenient, as it comes as a serviced appartment
with all fees included and only a one-off price. No need to worry about
anything. The landlord is very helpful in any matters and highly
responsive. Can only recommend this place to any INSEAD fellows!"

"I stayed in the house during my P5. I sincerely cannot think at any
negative aspect of my experience: amazing garden, beautiful room,
proactive landlady always ready to help, weekly cleaning lady services,
big common areas (e.g., kitchen), and fully equipped kitchen.
Furthermore my deposit has been paid back in few days: this is something absolutely not common! My only regret is that I only stayed there for 2 months, while I would have liked to spend there the whole year :)" Simone VESCO, MBA 12J |

"I
spent 4 months (march-june '12) in Fontainebleau. It has been a very
positive period also thanks to the accomodation quality. The
country house has a homely and warm atmosphere with a fireplace
and a big kitchen opening up to the living room: You are
immediately comfortable. There is a nice terrace and a big garden
that can be especially enjoyed in the late spring season.
The small village is very calm and there are no nuisances or
noises. Near the house there is a quite long path
(15k-20k) flanking a canal and the Fontainbleau forest : An
optimal solution for running addicts!" Ronald GINDRAT, PhD. 2012 |
|
"I really
enjoyed living in villa Rive du Loing, this is why I spent a full
year here! It is an intimate and cousy house the perfect place to have people
over for dinner and relish the company of your friends, either by the fireplace
in winter or in the huge garden in summer! It has also been a lot of fun to
share the house with 3 other INSEAD students who have become really close
friends!" Fabrizio BEATI, MBA 12J |
|
"A home away from home… Rive du Loing is a beautiful house with all the
essentials ready from the first day. As importantly, there was excellent
support from the extremely helpful landlady." Andre CHEAH, MBA 12D |
|
"Villa Rive du Loing is always a great choice to stay. The cosy living
room with the open kitchen and a fireplace for cold winter nights is the
centre of the house. Combined with a beautiful terrace and the spacious
garden, the villa is perfect to host
dinners and gatherings. The rooms are well renovated, each room has its
own shower and basin, however students must share a total of two
toilets. One of the benefits while staying at the villa is the landlady
herself - whatever concern/request we had, she was
always very obliging and helpful." Fabio FAGAGNINI, MBA 12D |
|
"Villa Rive du Loing is a good value
proposition: a nice house with garden in green surroundings. Living in the
villa is a sharp contrast from any Singaporean experience you will have had:
you actually "feel" that you are in rural France when putting an extra
log of wood onto the fire, or getting your croissants in Bourron Marlotte on a
Sunday morning." Frederick BOELS, MBA 12D |
|
"I spent 6 months at Villa Rive du Loing and I had a fantastic
time. The house is one of the cosiest I have seen around INSEAD, the
price is hard to beat in the region, and you are saved the headaches of
dealing with utility companies. Marie was very
punctual as a landlord, and extremely responsive when we needed her. I
can only say I will really miss living at this fantastic villa..." Ivan KOTEV, MBA 13J |
|
"I had a very good time
at Villa rive du Loing. The house is very well located in a beautiful typical
French village, the price is very fair, and Marie is a fantastic landlord who
dedicates lots of time to make sure guests of the house have nothing to worry
about except our Insead life. I fully recommend the Villa for any Insead
student! I was living with 3 other Insead students and we had a fantastic time
there." Malik C., MBA 13J |
